An error in the obituary of Judge Powell in our last issue was made when it was stated that Mr. Powell’s mother’s maiden name was Waggener. She was a sister of Mrs. Zelia Waggener and their maiden name was Olive. Funeral of Judge Powell occurred at his late residence in this city at 2 o’clock pm in this city Sunday May 29th, and the remains were interred in the Hunter burying ground just north fo the city beside those of his first wife....

Will of Judge J. E. Powell. was dated the 20th day of Sept 1897... Miss Linda Mae Davis returned home from a visit to Jonesboro as Mrs. Wm. T. Malone....

Miss Linda Mae’s is the daughter of Mrs Henry Jasper her father being the late Samuel T. Davis, ...

Death of Moses Shanks aged 48 years, died at his residence in Brushy Prairie Wed. June 1. He had been suffering with a large carbuncle on his neck for two weeks which ultimately caused is death. He leaves a widow and seven children. He was a member of the A. O. U. W. and one of our most substantial citizens. The funeral took place this afternoon.
