Hunter Houck Nuptials. At the presbyterian church were wed June 8, 1898, in this city, Miss Virginia Hunter and Louis H. Houck. The rites were solemnized by Rev. S Addison McElroy of Cape Girardeau, a presbyterian minister. Miss Hunter is the youngest child of Mr. And Mrs. Joseph Hunter of NM ...

Margaret Ogden the maid of honor... a former schoolmate of the bride.

Johnnie Wynn, aged about 20 years, son of Robert Wynn, of Dunklin Co., was drowned in Open Bay, just below the bridge, near Portageville, last Saturday, June 5. They body was recovered and buried Monday.

Mrs. Dr. Geo Hillsman, who came to attend the funeral of her father, Judge JE Powell, left last night by steamer for her home in Livermorre KY. She was accompanied by her sister, Mrs. Leila Philliips. Died at the home of her parents, On Riddle’s Point thursday June 2d Lillie Taylor, age 14 years of congestion.

About the marriage of Will T Malone of Jonesboro AR, and Miss Linda Mae Davis daughter of Mrs. LK Jaspar of this city, the Jonesboro papers contain elaborate accounts.

J. R. Parks received a telegram Sunday May 29th from Hardinsburg, KY, announcing the death of Mr. Charles Miller father of Mrs. Parks and Mrs. Felix LeSieur, and a cousin of Judge James H. Howard, aged 74 years. The deceased was quite well known here, where he visited frequently, and his death will be deeply regretted.

Born to the wife of Wm. Hancock, June 7th, a boy.

Thomas F. Henry, County assessor married in Caledonia last week, Miss Glennie Smith, who taught at the Ristine School last term. The marriage was performed at the residence of the bride’s parents at Caledonia, June 1st. Rev. Berryman officiating.
