On the Fed. Herold, Saturday, were Mr. And Mrs. J. O. Michell who were returning from their trip to Salt lake city They brought with them the body of their child, Little Matie, whose death was occasioned while in Salt Lake City by drinking a quantity of concentrated lye. The body was embalmed and kept until the father and mother were ready to come home and was brought with them (Caruthersville democrat)

Born, Friday Sept 1th to Mr and Mrs ME Berry a son.

The marriage of Miss Lilly Wakefield of this city and Mrs. Civis, of Pine Bluff, is announced to occur oct 2d at 2 oclock at the ME church. The Maccabee hive, of which lodge Miss Wakefield is a member, will tender the young couple a reception at their hall.

An employee of the dredge boat Zeta committed suicide by jumping off the steamer Patrol near Reelfoot as the steamer was coming up Wednesday about 12 oclock. The name of the man could not be learned. He was sick and was going to the hospital at Cairo. ...

Born to Dr. and Mrs. Ellwood Alley Thurs Sept 8, a boy. It was born dead. Benton Record. Mrs. Alley was formerly Miss Fannie Summers of New Madrid.
