Caruthersville will probably be connected with the Illinois Central Railroad.... It will cross Reelfoot Lake a little north of Stones Ferry and leave Ridgley and Reelfoot to the north, passing through only one town, Glass, a few miles this side of Obion. ...

George Bates Jr. went hunting near Piedmont. He saw what he thought was a turkey and fired away. The supposed turkey was a man named White and the ball from the rifle had mortally wounded him.

At the residence of Henry Ransburgh on Sunday last the words were spoken by judge John Ransburgh that bound together in the bonds of wedlock, Elvis Sutherland of Portageville, brother of Mrs. Henry Ransburgh, and Miss Minnie Payne, also of Portageville, and who was raised by Mr. And Mrs E. C. Haines.

Mrs. Celia DeLisle, relict of the lat Frank DeLisle and mother of Mrs. Gunn of this city, died at her daughters residence last Saturday about 5 oclock pm at the advanced age of about 70 years. She had recently come up from her home near Portageville to wait upon her sick daughter Mrs. Gunn when she was also taken down. The remains were taken to Portageville Sunday for burial.

Mrs. Fannie Houben, Nee Ransburgh, nee Evans died at her residence in this city tuesday morning last after only a few days sickness with pneumonia at the age of about 57 years. She leaves four children, John L. and Henry Ransburgh., Mrs. Zula Clark, and Mrs. Jennie Thurston. The funeral will be from the residence of John Ransburgh, to where the body has been moved at 2 oclock Friday after noon.
