Mrs. James Dones went to Paw Paw Tuesday to visit her brother Richard Bayne who is confined to his bed with a broken leg.

Mrs. Edward Lavalle received a telegram Dec 23 from Fayetteville aAk, announcing the sad intelligence of the death of her brother Thomas Martin who died that morning from a stroke of paralysis, superinduced from Brights disease from which the deceased had been suffering for seven or eight months. Tom Martin is well remembered by many here, where he was raised, and his jovial disposition kind heartedness and many other admirably qualities are cherished by his many associates of whom the write is one. He had been in business in Fayetteville for a number of years. He married there and his wife and a step-child survive him. His age was\ 48 years, 9 months and 22 days.

Married last Sunday Mr. R. P. Montgomery to Miss Hattie Haydock. (Bloomfield cosmos)

Nerve Brown, a Pemiscot County man died and was buried last week In 1865 he died to all appearance but as lumber was scarce and hard to get, his coffin was not secured for three of four days. In the meantime, some one discovered signs of life and hot water and vigorous rubbing soon brought him around all right. He had been in a trance and heard all the preparations for his funeral discussed but was powerless to stop the gruesome proceedings. He leaves a wife and several children.

Married in this city at the residence of Squire Joel Cook, that gentleman officiating. Dec 31 James W. Pittman and Nannie Howard of Madrid Bend, KY.
