FOSTER, Mrs. Elizabeth, mother of Mrs. R. Richards, of this city, died February 20 in Springfield, at the home of her daughter at the advanced age of 98 years. Mrs. Foster was from Virginia where her father was a wealthy planter and a slave owner. At the age of 18 she was married to R. D. Foster, and 13 children were born to them. The papers from her home speak in very eulogistic terms of the deceased lady showing that hers was a long life, well spent.

Robert Kimball, Jr. , son of Mr. And Mrs. Jesse Kimball, and Miss Irma Long, daughter of Mrs. Margaret Long, all of this city, went to Kennett Tuesday after noon last and were married by Rev. Porterfield the Presbyterian minister. They were accompanied by Mr. Jesse Kimball and Mr. Tom Anderson. The bridal couple went to Cairo today and from there will go to New Orleans on a tour.

George Shields, deputy sheriff, last saturday arrested Julius Logan in this city upon a telegram received from Charles Dawson, sheriff of Dyer Co., TN. Logan and his brother Gene were wanted in Dyersburg for robbery stealing breaking jail, etc. and a reward of $25 was offered for them. They had been resident here for several months both having families. Gene Logan has been confined to his bed since Christmas and it is thought has consumption. Sheriff Dawson arrived here Sunday and left Monday with Julius Logan. Mr. Shields went to Gene Logans house Monday and finding him too sick and weak to be removed to jail, concluded to place a man on guard to see that he did not leave. The deputy sheriff seeing that there was nothing to eat in the house but a piece of cornbread, bought a chicken, etc. And sent down. After supper when the guard went to Logans house he was surprised to find that Logan had skipped out, leaving no trace of himself, and not waiting to partake of the delicate viands provided by Mr. Shields.
