Walter son of Mr. And Mrs. James Rhodes, aged 16 years died at his parents residence four miles northwest of town last Sunday night.

Mrs. Phil. LeSieur returned to her home in Hardinsburg, Ky last Saturday. She was accompanied by F. V. LeSieur.

W. D. Secoy, formerly a resident of this county but now living at Cottonpoint, visited this city the first of the week, the guest of his son in law John T. Sheehy and wife.

John Meatte, our popular grocer was married Apr 1 to Miss Sallie Meatte, or Portageville, Judge L. F. Lafont officiating. They returned here and went to keeping house in the Darxie Hayes property (Argus - Hayti)

Death has again invaded the LaFont family the victim this time being Jack LaFont, a brother of Judge L. F. LaFont who died at his residence near Portageville, April 22, of pneumonia, aged 45 years. He leaves a wife and 6 children.

The two boys, Louis Adams and Bill Blaylock, who committed the youthful depredations here the latter part of last week by robbing the tents around town, were located and arrested at Portageville on Sat by John Gunn. Sheriff McFarland went up after them on that day. They got away, however and some time last night stole a skiff at Pt. Pleasant (Daily Press, Caruthersville)

Mr. Michael Haase, a prominent citizen of St. Anthony, Ind. And Mrs. Frances Taylor, East Prairie, were married in St. Martins church at East Prairie on the 24 th inst. By Rev. J. J. Furlong A large number of relatives and friends were present. An excellent breakfast was served after the ceremony.

We recorded the death of Mrs. Brand at Portageville two weeks ago. Since then her husband, the postmaster there has died. We understand he absolutely refused to take any kind of medicine, being a believer in the faith cure..

Joseph OBannon Sr. died at his residence two miles northwest of Pt. Pleasant at 9 oclock, am Sat Apr 21 of pneumonia, aged 59 years. He was taken sick on Tuesday previous to his death. He was the son fo the late Mr and Mrs. Welton OBannon and a half brother to Wm. N. OBannon who was the father of Dr. Welton OBannon of this city. The deceased was for a number of years a justice of the peace in LeSieur Twp and always took an interest in public affairs. While he possessed some peculiarities, he was an upright and honorable citizen. His remains were interred in the family graveyard on the Thomas place Sunday last.

Born near LaForge to Mr. And Mrs. James Chapman, Tuesday apr. 24, an eleven pound boy.

Died of pneumonia fever, at his residence near Point pleasant on the 16 th John E. Clark, only son of the late Mrs. M. E. Summers. Mr. Clark was born in this county May 30th 1870, He was an industrious and kind hearted young man. He leaves a wife and two children and a host of friends to mourn his loss.

Mrs. Alpha Seibert Fleming, daughter of Hon Jas M. Seibert and Mr. Daniel J. Handcock, a young businessman of St. Louis were married in Jefferson City on the 17th inst.

Col Robert Wade died quite suddenly at his home in this city on the night of Apr. 18th about midnight of Angina Pectoris Col. Wade was 78 years old and leaves two sons but it is not known where they are. Charles Chronicle.

Bill Vincent, the negro white washer shot and killed another negro, Arthur Bowen who was prowling around his barn at midnight Tuesday night at Caruthersville. Vincent Surrendered Kennett democrat.
