Married Sunday June 10 at Martins Chapel after services, Mrs. Geo. F. Weber to Miss Mary Scudder. Mr. Webber is one of the owners and operators of the Klondike saw mill located about 4 miles west of Pt. Pleasant and is a genial gentleman somewhat past the meridian of life but with his faculties unabated. The lady is from Terre Haute Ind., and is a well preserved pleasant looking lady of middle age. Both are members of the M. E. Church. May their lives be filled with content happiness and usefulness.

Married by Rev. Irwin A. Ewing at the residence of the brides mother on Caney Island, four miles below Warrington, June 6, 1900, Miss Mary Phillips, daughter of the late W. B. Phillips, and John Huffman. After the ceremony supper was served and what the party did or the good things that were on the table was a plenty. Long may Mr and Mrs Huffman live to enjoy life. Among the guests present were the following from Paw Paw, who went down in four canoes: R. T. Waring and family, D. H. Wilkerson and family, James Ford and family, Victor Glodo, and a host of young folks,

Miss Laura Diggs, the popular music teacher, gave her annual recital at her home last Saturday afternoon..... Those of the class who participate in the recital were Ethel and Jennie Broughton, Jennie and Maud OBannon, Gladys and Glenda Gray, Etta Green, Lillan Dawson, Marie Lewis, Madge Mitchell, Camille Hunter Cathleene Druelinger, Clara Hacker and Walter Shead.

Died at Benton Friday night June 9, after an illness of two days, Lee Arnold aged 16 years, second son of Hon. Marsh Arnold.

Murray Allen who is accused of killing Emmett Jackson, both colored was indicted by the grand jury yesterday and held without bail.

Mrs. David Haas and little daughter Orra May of Jonesboro, are visiting Mrs. Haas father R .J. Waters and family.

Mr and Mrs Albert Davis have the sympathy of many friends here in the loss of their youngest child Mildred who died Friday June 8 of flux, aged about 2 years. The little one was ill just a few days. Mr. Davis was in Kansas City and before he could respond to the telegram calling him home, death had claimed his own. Mrs. Henry Jasar, Mrs. Clay Dawson, and Mrs. Lee Week attended the funeral from here.

In Pemiscot County another tragedy was enacted last week. Last Thursday morning Matt Montgomery was shot and killed by James Cisco near Cooter. Montgomery was intimate with Ciscos wife.

Deputy Sheriff Cupp of Mississippi county went aboard a flat boat at Belfount to arrest its owner for selling liquor without license. The boat was cut loose from the landing and after a while when the officer undertook to serve the papers he found that the man and boat was out of his jurisdiction, being in mid-stream. He pleaded to be put ashore.
