will Richard J. WATERS was appointed guardian for Joseph's minor

Monroe LAFERNEY b. 1818 were two of those children. I have
checked Joseph Lafernait's probate file at the New Madrid Court
House but have not been able to find any other record to tie
the three names together. Are there any records of Richard J.
WATERS available that might contain the connection?
Joseph LAFERNAIT married Margaret POURCELLY in New Madrid
territory in 1796. Joseph died in New Madrid County in 1824
leaving a wife Mary LAFERNAIT and minor sons and daughters.

MAVITY
I am trying to confirm that a Wesley Mavity who died in New
Madrid CO in
1835 is my ggg-grandfather. He was born about 1803, moved to New
Madrid
CO from Ripley CO, IN, was killed by wolves in 1835, leaving a
widow,
Ellen, and 3 small daughters, Elizabeth, Mary J., and Rebecca.
If he is the man I want him to be, his daughter Elizabeth
married a Wm.
Hamilton Branscomb in Mississippi CO, MO in 1845. Later she
migrated to
NW AR. I have evidence that her sisters married brothers who
were
cousins of Wm. Hamilton and also moved to AR. Ellen may have
subsequentlly married a Mr. Martin.
Can anyone confirm anything about the Wesley Mavity story?
All help greatly appreciated.

STEWART, Watson Le Valle
I am looking for any information about my paternal grandfather.
I have a
child's book titled "Dick and his Donkey" which I believe was a
christmas gift to my grandfather when he was about 9 yrs old. It
has an
inscription inside the cover handwritten:
Watson L. Stewart, New Madrid Mo. December 25, 1887.
I understand that his mother was a widow(my great grandmother)
by the
time grandfather was 12. I remember being told that he went to
work for
the railroad when he was 12 or thirteen to support his mother and
sisters. I seem to recall that my great grandfather was a "high"
(whatever that is) sherriff in or around New Madrid. Possibly
grandfather's middle name--Le Valle--was his mother's maiden
name.
Any information would be very greatfully received. Thank You,
