Judge: Thomas Edward BRODERICK 1874 thru 1953 Thomas Edward BRODERICK, 78, former Pemiscot Probate Judge, died Wednesday, April 8, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Basil Barksdale, near this city, after an illness of several years and following several cerebral strokes. Mr. Broderick was born September 15, 1874, in Jackson, Mo. and spent most of his adult life in the south part of this county where he taught school before being elected probate judge. He is survived by; his daughter, Mrs. Barksdale; four Sons, William Broderick of Steele, Joe Broderick of Wardell, Ben Broderick of Kansas City and Gerald Broderick of Victoria Tex.; one sister, Mrs E.L. Slinkard of St. Louis; and two brother, T.S. Broderick of St Louis and W.E. Broderick of Jonesville, S. Car. Mrs. Slinkard and his two brothers, who are all quite elderly, their ages being 82, 75, and 77 years, respectively, were all here for the funeral, which was held at the Church of Christ in this city on Friday afternoon. The Rev. Wm. B. Kughn conducted the service and burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery at Steele, beside his late wife. LaForge Undertaking Company was in charge.
