April 14, 1907-Aug. 3, 1984 William Alvin Estes, a resident of 413 Oak St., died Friday Aug. 3, 1984, at 1:00 a.m. in the Sikeston Convalescent Center after an extended illness. He was born April 14, 1907, in Steele, MO, to the late Walker E. and Gracie Mickle Estes. He had lived in Mississippi County for the past 60 years. He was a member of the First Christian Church and was a retired farmer and truck driver. On Sept. 27, 1925, he married Mable Owens, who survives. In addition to his wife, surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Owens Adkisson of East Prairie; two grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral services were held for Mr. Estes Sunday, Aug. 5, at 1:00 p.m. in the Shelby Funeral Home Chapel. Services were conducted by Rev. Martin Lucas, assistant pastor of the First Christian Church. Burial was in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery in East Prairie, MO.
