Oct. 31, 1917-Oct. 9, 2001 Ruby Hazel Hillin, 83, died Tuesday, Oct. 9 at her home in Wardell. She was born Oct. 31, 1917 in Caruthersville, MO to the late James Monroe Neely and Francis Dockery Neely. On Sept 14, 1934 in Wardell she married Andrew Hillin, who survives. Preceding her in death were: one daughter, Mary Frances Hillin; four brothers, Ed, Charley, Dewey and Elmer Neely and one sister, Myrtle Robinson. Surviving are four sons: Calvin Hillin, Memphis, TN; James Hillin, Cape Girardeau, MO; Bobby Hillin, Atlanta, GA; and Jerry Hillin, St. Louis; one daughter, Pansy Clark of Caruthersville; one sister, Lucille Maloney of Greenwood, MS; 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, 2001 at the First Baptist Church in Wardell with burial in Pemiscot Memorial Gardens at Caruthersville. Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Scott Hillin, John Hillin, Michael Hillin, Dewayne Clark, Terry Clark, and Jamie Farrell. The WMU of Wardell Baptist will serve as honorary pallbearers.
