    LONNIE GENE MILLER
    Nov. 30, 1946-May 6, 2006

    Lonnie Gene Miller, 59, of Wardell, MO, died Saturday, May 6, at his residence. Born Nov. 30, 1946, in Wardell, son of the late Hildred and Ida Buck Miller, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Vietnam. He was a graduate of Wardell High School and attended Three Rivers Community College and Southeast Missouri State University. He was a farmer, a softball coach at North Pemiscot, and a member of the Wardell Baptist Church and the VFW.

    On September 11, 1981, in Wardell, he married Beverly Terrell, who survives. Survivors include two daughters, Wendy Thompson and husband, Jason, of West Monroe, LA, and Amanda Miller of Wardell; one son, Clay Miller of Wardell; two brothers, James Doyle Miller of Wardell and Virgil Miller of Clarkton; one sister, Debbie Wilkins, of Gideon, MO, and two grandchildren, Katie Beth and Cole Thompson of West Monroe, LA.

    He was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy and Curtis Miller and two sisters, Laverne Whisnant and Doris Tanner.

    Funeral services were held at the Wardell Baptist Church with the Reverend Griff Walker officiating.

    Burial was in Memorial Cemetery in Wardell.

    Pallbearers were Norris Watkins, Larry Shell, Jimmy Barron, Tony Thompson, Thomas Bankston, Roger Tarver and Jake Fisher. Honorary pallbearers were George Cain and John Hankins.

    Bradshaw Funeral Home of Wardell was in charge of arrangements.
