Aug. 6, 1878-Dec. 23, 1951 John “Big John” Miller, 73, life-long resident of Wardell, died at his home there on Sunday, December 23, and funeral services were held the following day at the Wardell Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Charles Hunt. Burial was in Wardell Memorial Cemetery with Jimmy Osburn Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Miller was born in Wardell August 6, 1878, the son of the late Mr. George Harvey Miller and Minerva Duncan Miller, and had lived all his life in that vicinity. In 1900 he was married to Miss Virgie Bradshaw, who survives him. He also leaves five sons: George, Hill, Clarence, Sherman and Junior Miller of Wardell; a brother, Rube Miller of Bragg City; 25 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
