ANN MASSEY Jan. 21, 1916-Mar. 13, 2002 Ann Tant Massey, 86, died March 13, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, MO. Born Jan. 21, 1916, in Wardell, MO, daughter of the late Hohn H. and Mary Hobson Tant, she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, PEO Sisterhood and the First Baptist Church in Portageville. She and her husband, V.R. Massey owned and operated a Chevrolet-Olds auto dealership in Portageville in the 1950’s. He preceded her in death on Feb. 28, 1960. Also preceding her in death were one sister, Bonnie Tant, one half sister, Katherine Tant, and one half brother, Harold Tant. She was a teacher for the Wardell School District before retiring. Surviving are one sister, Maecel Tommie Dorris of Cape Girardeau; one half brother, John Tant, of Kennett; one niece, Judy Rhodes of Houston, TX; and special friends, Sue and Junior Cline of Portageville. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Inman officiating. Burial was in the Portageville Cemetery with DeLisle Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were Dusty Grooms, Melvin Johnston, Terry Phillips, Roy Hinton, Harold Hayes and Lewis Lechenette. Honorary pallbearers were Junior Cline, Melvin Shoults, Bud Sisson, Al Henson, and L.C.
