Aug. 16, 1905-Dec. 22, 1971 Charley Miller Owens, 66, 319 Wilbur Street, East Prairie, MO, died at 8:00 p.m. of an apparent heart attack. He was born Aug. 16, 1905, in Wardell, MO. A retired farmer he had lived in Mississippi County for about 60 years. Survivors include his wife, Marie Smith Owens of East Prairie, and his mother Mrs. Nevada Miller Owens of Charleston, MO; four sons, Charley Owens of Shreveport, LA; Billy Owens, of Wichita, KS; Dennis Owens, of Benton, MO, and Harry Owens of East Prairie, MO; three daughters, Mrs. Leroy Branham, Leesville, LA; Mrs. Gary Ashcraft, Oceanside, CA, and Mrs. Harry Smithson, East Prairie, MO; two brothers, Willie Owens of East Prairie, MO, and Holloway Owens of Ontario, CA; one sister, Mrs. Mable Owens Estes of East Prairie; 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild. The body is at Shelby Funeral Home where friends may call after 5:00 p.m. today. Services will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the Shelby Chapel with the Rev. Martin Lucas, pastor of Anniston Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in the W.O.W. Cemetery in East Prairie, MO.
