Jan. 19, 1925-Nov. 24, 1998 Bethalto---Myrtle M. Riva, 73, died at 6:12 p.m. Tuesday at Alton Memorial Hospital. Born Jan. 19, 1925, at Kennett, MO, she was a daughter of Ethel Bracy Lack of Gans, OK, and the late Fred Lack. She graduated from Missouri Baptist School of Nursing and was a registered nurse at Wood River Township Hospital for 28 years, before retiring and also a member of the Wood River Moose Lodge No. 1349 Auxillary. She married Eugene J. Riva Dec. 9, 1949, in Wood River, IL. He died July 5, 1996. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, John and Elenita Riva of Bethalto; a daughter and son-in-law, LouAnne and John Lanning of Bethalto; three grandchildren, Eugene Riva, Bryan Riva and Kyle Delp; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Nelson Lack of Gans, William Lack of Coffeyville, KS, and Coy and Jayne Lack of Roland, OK; two sisters, June Tinney and Lynne Gee, both of Gans; and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lucille and Roland Kelly of Bethalto. She was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Fout. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday.
