Jan. 1, 1922-July 14, 1986 THE STEELE ENTERPRISE July 31, 1986 Mrs. Bernice Smith, 64, of Wardell, died July 14, 1986, at Twin Rivers Medical Center at Kennett. Born January 1, 1922, in Wardell, she was the daughter of John Benjamin and Etta Evaline Elliott Wilson. She is survived by her husband, Chip Smith, of Wardell; one son, Joseph Smith of Wardell; two daughters, Mrs. Nancy Bullock and Mrs. Darice Sheckell, both of Wardell. Three brothers: Gene Wilson of Wardell; A.J. Wilson of Greenwood, MS; and R.V. Wilson of Bowling Green, FL; one sister, Mrs. Edith Ballentine of Steele; and three grandchildren: Alan Sheckell and Nathan and Elizabeth Bernice Bullock, all of Wardell. Services were July 16 at Wardell Church of Christ, Todd Padfield officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele. Jimmy Osburn Funeral Home of Wardell in charge. Pallbearers were Tim Ballentine, Harold Gene Wilson, Joe Pettigrew, Claude Flowers, Johnny Wallace, and Kent Buck. Honorary pallbearers were Jesse Byrd, Harley Gaskins, Avery Gardner, Coleman Buck, James Fennell, and Stormy Oliver.
