    Clodine Trail, 82, died at 8:35 p.m. July 16, 2005, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

    Born March 29, 1923, in Wardell, MO, daughter of the late John and Betty Lomax Mathis, she was raised by James and Violet Lomax. She was a charter member of the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Sikeston.

    One son, four brothers and three sisters also preceded her in death.

    Survivors include: two daughters and a son-in-law, Bonnie Trail of St. Louis and Nancy and Gerald Settles of Sikeston; one brother, Dub Lomax of Nashville, TN; three sisters, Mildred Marble of Tyler, TX, Pat White of Sikeston, and Janet Jackson of Van Buren; two grandchildren, Joe Settles and Susan Warren of Greenwood, IN, and one great-granddaughter, Meredith Warren of Greenwood.

    Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, where funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. John Tarter, pastor of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, will officiate.

    Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery.


NOTE: Clodine’s biological brothers and sisters: Harvel, Kinch, Robert, Pauline, and Marylene Mathis all preceded her in death. The brother and sisters in this obituary are children of James and Violet Lomax. Her mother died when she was just a few months old and she was reared by James and Violet. James was a nephew of her mother, Betty Lomax Mathis.
