Sept. 19, 1894-Aug. 17, 1980 Portageville Missourian Aug. 21, 1980 Services for John Benjamin Wilson of Wardell were held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Echols officiating. Burial was in Rowe Cemetery with Jimmy Osburn Funeral Home of Wardell in charge of arrangements. The son of the late Zebedee Forrest and Dolly Emaline Guinn Wilson, he was born Sept. 19, 1894 in Obion County, TN. Mr. Wilson died Sunday, Aug. 17, 1980 at the age of 85. Survivors include four sons: Jewel M. Wilson of Sikeston, Gene Wilson of Wardell, A.J. Wilson of Greenwood, MS and R.V. Wilson of Wardell and two daughters, Bernice Smith of Wardell, MO and Edith Ballentine of Steele, MO. He was preceded in death by his wife, Etta Elliott Wilson, on January 25, 1975. Pallbearers were: Harold Gene Wilson, Johnny Wilson, Jay Gordon Wilson, Vernon Wilson, Greg Ballentine, and Gary Wilson, grandsons. Honorary pallbearers were: Dean Wilson, Don Wilson, Tim Ballentine, Jimmy Wilson, Joe Smith, Dennis Wilson, and Kendall Ballentine, grandsons.
