Dec. 28, 1910-July 8, 2002 Missourian Portageville, MO July 18, 2002 Isaac Gilruth “Ike” Woten, 91, died July 8, 2002, at Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti, MO. Born Dec. 28, 1910, in Remus, MI, he was the son of the late Alonzo and Lillie Faye Sharp Woten. On May 21, 1935, in Portageville, MO, he married Vada Hillin of Wardell. He was formerly a custodian at North Pemiscot Schools in Wardell, MO. Surviving are a son, Richard Barry “Dickey” Woten of Wyoming, Delaware; a daughter, Martha Faye Emmons, Holcomb, MO; brothers, Alvie Woten, Louisville, KY; Lloyd Ray Woten, Crawsville, IN; sisters, Daisy Thompson, Mammoth Springs, AR; Maggie Mitchell, Alton, MO; Etta Upton, Pittsburgh, KS; Dolly Bishop, Wirth, AR; 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by children, Jimmy and Lisa Woten; three brothers, Leroy, Walter, and Ezra Woten and three sisters, Helen Johnson, Mable Vaughn and Lucy Rand. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. at the Wardell Church of Christ with Laddie Owens officiating. Burial was in Memorial Gardens, Kennett, MO, with Bradshaw Funeral Home in charge.
