Family Group Sheet

FAMILY GROUP SHEET

Submitted by Wilfred Bow, Poster-#-126-

HUSBAND: Jacob Alexander DeCLUE (Jacques Alexandre DUCLOS)
BORN: 17 September 1831, Old Mines, Washington Co., Missouri
MARRIAGE: Mary Jane ALEXANDER2 July 1900, Perryville, Perry Co., Missouri
OTHER MARRIAGES: Mary BOYER, 12 July 1855, Washington Co., Missouri
    MILITARY SERVICE:
    DIED: 1911, Perry Co., Missouri
FATHER'S NAME AND DATE OF BIRTH: Michel DUCLOS, 30 November 1804, Ste. Genevieve, Louisiana Territory
MOTHER'S NAME AND DATE OF BIRTH: Theresa MAILLOT, About 1812, Missouri
NOTES: Family tradition says that Jacob is really Jacques Alexandre Duclos. He married Marie Boyer and had two children by her.
They hired or took in an Indian woman named ??? Alexander and her daughter Mary Jane as servants. Later he an Mary Boyer
separated and divorced. He and Mary Jane began living as husband and wife. They were not married untill 1900, AFTER all the
children were born. After the separation he began going by the name Jacob Declue rather than Jacob Duclos. Possibly this was
because of trying to get the children into Catholic school. I personally believe that he and Mary Jane did'nt marry until 1900
because he had to wait for his first wife to die to be married in the church.  This is all pretty much conjecture as grandmother would
never say much about it. We know he was married - divorced - had children with Mary Jane - listed her as a "ward" on the June 1900
Census and married her in July 1900. W. Bow
