• Milheim Mercantile. My grandfather, Joseph Frances Saxton, purchased the place in 1926. The general store was also the location of the post office, telephone switchboard, gasoline pump, blacksmith shop and served hot meals at noon. As owner of the post office location grandfather also became post master. To the rear of the store is a barn and to the right is the home where the Saxton's lived. There were also living quarters with in the store building.
