- Hedwig, Walther, and Esther HECHT
I've "rescued" an old photograph of Hedwig, Walther, and Esther HECHT which
was taken at the P. J. Lueders Studio in Frohna, Missouri.
The photograph
appears to have been taken in the early 1900's with the three children
ranging in age from infant (the boy) to 6 years. Based on limited research,
I believe these are the children of Gotthilf HECHT and Lidia S. JACOBS.
Hedwig Lydia HECHT was b. 27 Oct 1897 in MO, she married Gottfried Gustave
SCHUESSLER and died 28 Jan 1972 in Perryville, MO and is said to be buried
in Frohna, MO. Walter HECHT was b. 16 Sept 1903 and died in Perry County,
MO in Dec 1980. The family can be traced through census records as follows:

- Gotthilf HECHT, age 42, married 13 years, born MO, parents born MO, a Farmer
- Lydya S. HECHT, wife, age 37, married 13 years, 6 children/6 living, born
MO, parents born MO
- Hedwig L. HECHT, dau, age 12, born MO
- Estie B. HECHT, dau, age 10, born MO
- Walter G. HECHT, son, age 6, born MO
- Clara A. HECHT, dau, age 4, born MO
- Flora M. HECHT, dau, age 4, born MO

- Ida HECHT, dau, age 2, born MO
Mary RUDERT, other, age 68, a widow, 3 children/1 living, born MO, parents
born Germany
1920 census of Union, MO:
- Hedwig L. HECHT, age 22, born MO, parents born MO, Manages Home Farm
- Walter G. HECHT, brother, age 16, born MO, parents born MO, Farm Laborer
- Clara M. HECHT, sister, age 14, born MO
- Flora A. HECHT, sister, age 14, born MO
- Ida O. HECHT, sister, age 11, born MO
- Gertrude R. HECHT, sister, age 8, born MO
- Mary L. RUDERT, Grandmother, age 78, a widow, to USA 1853, born Germany,
parents born Germany
No idea if the children are now without parents or just somewhere else at
the time of the census.
Note that they are living directly next to the
family of Henry & Wilhelmina C. HECHT who would appear to be about the age
of their Father's parents as well. I am hoping to locate someone from this
family so that the photograph can be returned to their care.
