Joe Tennison from Kentucky and
Polly Miller from Kentucky. He was married to Maggie Medlin. They lived in Arkansas and settled at Peggs, OK
where they both died. Together, they had several children.
He farmed all of his life. John William had one brother that we know of. Alfred Leon Tennison also born in 1878 Missouri(but we cannot find out where.) A sister, Nancy Tennison, b. 1973 MO, (somewhere). Nancy married Charles Polk Warren and they risided at Peggs, OK also, with children.

Charles Clampitt, 68-year-old resident of the Cedar Fork community, died on Thursday, May 21, at the Veterans Hospital at Memphis, Tenn.

Mr. Clampitt was born on March 19, 1891, in Ste. Genevieve County, a son of John and Narcissy (Keith) Clampitt. He was never married.

The body lay in state at the Bey Funeral Home until 1 o'clock Sunday afternoon, when it was taken to the Cedar Fork Methodist Church, where services were conducted by the Rev. Paul E. Rundel. Interment was in the church cemetery. Grave-side services were conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

MRS. JOHN VAUGHN DIES IN HOSPITAL

Mrs. Emily E. Vaughn of Perryville, widow of John L. Vaughn, died February 11 at St. Francis hospital, Cape Girardeau, where she was taken Feb. 2 for a gall bladder operation. She was 74 year old, and had been sick for several weeks.
The body was brought to the Bey Funeral Home in Perryville and the funeral was held from there at 1:30 p.m. Sunday to the Cedar Fork Methodist church and cemetery. Services were conducted by the Rev. E. J. Gale of Perryville.
Mrs. Vaughn was born Mar 29, 1869, in Perry County, a daughter of John and Elizabeth (Keith) Clampitt. She was married Apr 10, 1885 to John L. Vaughn, who died Jan. 1, 1944. To them were born six children, four of whom are living. They are Charles of St. Louis, George of Womack and Lulu Ethel and Prince Vaughn at home.
She also leaves a sister, Mrs. Cora Mix of Arlington, Ky., two brothers, Charles and William Clampitt of R. 1, nineteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Wm. A. Robertson Dead

Wm. A. Robertson died at the home of his son, Edward, on Cedar Fork, November 30, 1903, at the age of 86 years, 8 months and 4 days. Deceased was born in South Carolina and moved with his parents when he was 8 years old to Alabama, where he grew up to manhood. He married in Alabama to Miss Jane Erwin, daughter of James and Rosanah Erwin. About the year 1837-38 he started with his father-in-law and their families on an overland trip to the then far west to seek their fortunes. They settled on Cedar Fork, Perry Co., Mo., where he has resided up to his death. When he was about 30 years old he was converted and joined the M. E. Church to which he lived a faithful member. He died as he had lived, a true Christian, he filled the office of Sunday Supt., class leader, steward and almost all the offices that a lay member is eligible to in the M. E. church. He was the father of eleven children, five daughters and six sons, all of whom grew to manhood and womanhood, and are all living exceept the oldest son and oldest daughter. His remains were laid to rest in the Cedar Fork cemetery. Peace to his memory. A FRIEND

SARAH B. ROBINSON DIED IN ST. LOUIS

Mrs. Sarah B. Robertson, former resident of Perry County, died in St. Louis on December 6, according to a death notice in St. Louis newspapers. The body lay in state at the Albert H. Hoppe Funeral Home until 10 o'clock last night.

"Funeral and interment will be at Perryville, Mo.", the notice said. No other details were given.

She is survived by three children: Louise Feck and Charles and Shelby Robertson.

DIED LAST THURSDAY AGE 87 YEARS

John T. Robinson, one of the oldest citizens of the Burnt Mill vicinity died there last Thursday morning at the of 87 years. He lived in the Cedar Fork Community all his life.

He was married twice, and one son, Clint Robertson, survives from the first marriage. From his second marriage 2 sons-Chas. and Shelby Robertson, and one sister, Mrs. Feck, survive him, and all reside in St. Louis. His second wife also survives him, and 2 brothers-F.E.Robertson of Festus, Mo., and George Robertson at Farmington, also survive him.

Mr. Robertson served 3 years in the Civil War.

The funeral was held Friday of last week and burial was made in the cemetery at Cedar Fork. The services were conducted by Rev. Opp Methodist minister of this city.

John T. Robinson, a veteran of the Civil War, died August 15 at his home near Cedar Fork at the age of 86 years. The funeral was held the following day to the Cedar Fork M.E. Church and Cemetery. Services were conducted by the Rev. Max Opp.

Mr. Robinson was twice married. He is survived by one son, Clint Robinson, by his first marriage; three by his second, Charles and Shelby Robinson and Mrs. Feck of St. Louis; a brother, George of Flat River, and his wife.

Mr. Robinson served for three years with the Union Army.

Mrs. Malissa Clampitt, wife of the late John Clampitt, died Sunday at her home at Cedar Fork, at the age of 78 years. She suffered a paralytic stroke recently, from which she failed to recover.

The funeral, conducted by the Rev. W.R. Wendt, was held Tuesday to the Cedar Fork Church and Cemetery.

Cedar Fork Resident is Laid to Rest Friday-Leaves Wife and 5 Children.

John Clampitt, 87 years old, died last Wednesday, December 7, at his home near Cedar Fork. The funeral was held Friday morning and his remains were laid to rest in the Cedar Fork Cemetery. The services were conducted by Rev. F. Quick.

Mr. Clampitt was born in 1834. In 1865 he was married to Miss Malissie Kieth and to them were born nine children, five of whom are living. They are: Mrs. Cora Mercer, Mrs. Emma Voughan, Mrs. Clara Hill and William and Charles Clampitt. Mr. Clampitt also leaves a widow, several grandchildren and scores of other relatives and friends.

Genevieve Co., died last Tuesday morning after a short illness of heart failure, at the age of about thirty years. Her mortal remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at Cedar Fork yesterday afternoon."

Funeral Services Sunday at Cedar Fork Methodist Church.

William H. Clampitt, 85 years old, died at 2:45 o'clock last Thursday afternoon at his home near Cedar Fork, Western Perry County community. He had been stricken with a stroke of paralysis the previous day.
The body was in state at Bey Funeral Home until 1:30 P.M. Sunday, when the funeral was held to Cedar Fork Methodist Church for services at 2 o'clock by the Rev. O. D. Niswonger of Perryville. Burial was made in the church cemetery.
Mr. Clampitt was born in Illinois on August 20, 1866. His parents were John and Elizabeth (nee Kieth) Clampitt. He was married to Miss Mary Robinson, who preceded him in death in February, 1909.
Three of the four children born of the marriage, survive. They are: John Clampitt, Perryville Rural Route 4; Mrs. John Counts, Perryville; and Clyde Clampitt, St. Louis. There are 15 grandchildren.
A brother, Charles Clampitt, lives on Perryville Rural Route 4, and a sister, Mrs. Cora Mix, on Route 1, Godfrey, Ill."

WILLIAM COFFEY DIES FRIDAY , DECEMBER 7

William Coffey, 68 years old, well-known Perry County farmer, died at 4 o'clock Friday afternoon, December 7, at his home about half way between Sereno and Bishop Station. He had been in bad health for the last few months. The funeral services were conducted by the Reverend O'Shea. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery at Perryville.
Mr. Coffey is survived by his wife , five sons, a brother, Henry Coffey of Perryville, and two sisters, Mrs. Julia Red of Perryville and Mrs. J.C. Welker of near Perryville.

Mrs. Mary Jane Red of Perryville died on Thursday, June 24, at the home of a daughter, Mrs. H.E. Collins of St. Louis County. She was 96 years old.
Mrs. Red was born on Feb. 12, 1857, in Perry County, a daughter of James and Sophie(Gibbar)Coffey. During June of 1885, she was married to John D. Red, who died on Jan.28, 1908. Among the survivors are two children, Mrs. Sophie Collins of St. Louis County and Mrs. Julie Jusel of Ste. Genevieve County. 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
The body lay in state at Young & Sons Chapel until 945 Saturday morning, June 26, when it was taken to St. Boniface Church for services at 10 o'clock. Interment was in the MT. Hope Cemetery, Perryville, MO.

He was the grandson of Mary Lydia Swan and Francis Anthony Joseph Callier. Francis was the son of Joseph Emmanuel Ignatius Callier and his first wife Marie Louise Favier. Joseph Emmanuel Ignatius Callier and Mary Anastasia Eliza Callier were brother and sister. Therefore, Elizabeth and Joseph H. were second cousins once removed.

She had been confined to her bed for several weeks with the infirmities of age. She was 78 years, seven months and four days of age. At the time of going to press, the funeral arrangements had not been made. Emily Hudson was born near Perryville June 1, 1852 daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth Ellis Hudson. In her girlhood, she was united in marriage to Gabriel Mc New, who preceded her in death 23 years. To this union, eight children were born, one of whom preceded the mother in death. The surviving children are Arthur of Eudora, Ark.; Charles of Desloge; Lawrence of Detroit, and Della, Bessie, Judith and Herman at home. She also leaves one brother, Robert Hudson, of Perryville, sixteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Mrs. Mc New and her family lived for a number of years in the vicinity of Perryville. They moved to Flat River and lived there a number of years before coming to Farmington. Mrs. Mc New was a member of the First M.E. Church of Farmington. She was a faithful wife, a loving mother and a loyal friend. She was always ready and willing to do all in her power to help those in need. Gabriel L. Mc New, aged 58 years, a resident and merchant of East Flat River, died at his home, Tuesday, October 29th, 1907, after an illness of five weeks of Typhoid fever. Mr. Mc New was born August 11th, 1849 in Perry county, where he lived prior to his coming to the Lead Belt nine years ago. During a part of the time since locating in Flat River he has been engaged in the grocery and restaurant business. He was a well known and highly respected citizen. He leaves a widow and eight children; four sons Arthur, Charles, Lawrence and Herman; and four daughters-Mrs. J.W. Moore, of Farmington, and Misses Zillia, Bessie and Judith. His remains were taken Wednesday afternoon to his old home near Perryville for burial. The deceased was a member of the Red Men lodge. Mr. Mc New leaves many friends who join the Lead Belt News in extending sympathy to the family.

Died on Thursday, march 11th, 1889, at her residence on Cedar Fork, ten miles west of Perryville, Mrs. Louisa Anna Mc New, aged 71 years, 7 mos., 17 days. The deceased was born in this county 27th July, 1817. Her father, Mr. Henry Tucker, was one of the early settlers of this county. She married George Mc New 30th March 1836. Her husband died 25th April 1882. She was the mother of nine children, six sons and three daughters, three of her sons and two of her daughters survive her, namely Pheb Farliegh, George W Mc New, Mrs. Catharine Pellerin, Gabriel Mc New and Josephus Mc New. Mrs. Mc New was loved and respected by all who knew her, a true type of womanhood and Christian lady. She was a member of the ME Church having united when quite young, and lived in full accord with its teachings up to her death. She was laid to rest in the old family grave yard, on Friday 15 March 1889, in the presence of a large crowd of friends who came to pay their last respects to one they loved.

"Mother, who has passed the toil, the pain, the conflict, victory is yours. Rest and peace your soul are feeling, with a joy devine, safe at last, and free forever, from the toil of life. You can soar on wings triumphant, to your blest abode. Never more to droop and languish neath the cares of life. Never more in pain and anguish shall you suffer loss. Safe in port, aye safely anchored on the golden strand. Home at last in Jesus presence, ever more to stand.

Mrs. Valle. She also brought up several orphan children and a stepson George
W. Hudson. Cedar Fork M.E. Church, laid to rest beside her husband in the

of Leadwood, & Mrs. Van Gibler. All were present when she passed away except
Mrs. Valle. She also brought up several orphan children and a stepson George
W. Hudson. Cedar Fork M.E. Church, laid to rest beside her husband in the
old cemetery.

"The Perry County Sun" Friday 7 Mar 1890 pg 2 reported: 'A Centenarian Gone'
Died on the 3rd instance at his residence near Eureka, Samuel CLIFTON. The deceased claimed to have been born in 1790 which would make him 100 years old. He had been bed-ridden for seven years. The deceased had been married three times his third wife surviving him. He leaves two sons and three daughters, the youngest of whom is 50 years old. The deceased retained his mental faculties unimpaired until seven years ago when they failed. While there are no family records by which his exact age could be established, yet it is generally accepted in the neighborhood in which he lived that his claims to being a centenarian are good."
