    Comments:
Seeking information on John Bernard Lindy, born 5/29/1872. Birthplace unknown. Married (1894) Laura Josephine PRUE, born 12/17/1875. Joesphine was listed in the 1880 census residing in Saline Township, Perry County, daughter of Louis and Marth J. Prue. Also listed was a younger sister, Annie L. Prue. The Lindy family bible lists John Lindy's ancestry as French, German and Cherokee, and Laura Josephine's as French and Irish. I have the names and birth dates of all their children, and a photograph of Laura Josephine with her children and grandchildren taken in the late 1930's. Any information or leads would be greatly appreciated.

    Name: Kathi Tucker Judkins <KathiJud@aol.com>
    Date: 2003-05-19
Surnames:(in capital letters only) TUCKER, WEST, MCNEW
    Comments:
I am searching for info on my great great grandparents. John Stephen Tucker married Agnes West in Perry County, MO in 1829. John & Agnes left MO and arrived in Dallas County, TX around the year 1845. According to the 1850 census, John Stephen Tucker was born about 1805. To my eyes, the census reads born MD but it could be MO. A book about early Dallas County, TX pioneers claimed he was born in NC. I would love to find his parentage and confirm place of birth. John and Agnes were definitely not Catholic. We suspect he may be the son of Henry Tucker who married Elizabeth Ellis in St. Genevieve County, MO in 1802. Henry & Elizabeth's daugher Louisiana married George McNew in Perry County, MO. There is a lot available on the internet about the Perry County Catholic Tuckers, but not much on the Protestant Tuckers. Agnes gave her maiden name as McNew in family records but the marriage record gives her name as West for some reason. I believe I have found her mother, Roda West (widow) living next to George & Louisiana McNew on census records while John Stephen & Agnes Tucker are two or three neighbors away. Was she born a West or a McNew? Would love to confirm her parentage as well. Per the 1850 Census she was born about 1811 in VA.

    Happy hunting!
    Kathi

Surnames:(in capital letters only) LEWIS, STAUFFER, DEPUY
    Comments:
I am searching for info on my grandfather, Fred Earl Lewis, b.16 Aug 1901, Perry County, MO d. 12 Sep 1950, Texas County, MO s/o David Lewis and Jennie Stauffer. My mother knew very little of his history as his mother supposedly died when he was 9 or 10 and he left home when he was 13. Supposedly their home had burned before his mother died and he carried her out of the burning house. Fred also supposedly drove a truck for a grocery in Perry County. When Fred returned to Perry County around 1923 he could not find his father. This is really the only info I have as Fred died before I was born, and my mother passed away in 2000. I had tried to find info on him before my mom passed away but have always hit a dead end. Fred married my grandmother Ervella DePuy 03 Oct 1923 in Urbana, Champaign,Illinois and they moved to Texas County,MO around 1933. Any info will be greatly appreciated and will gladly pay any costs to receive accurate information.
