    Earl Annis
    , age 67 years, of Route 1, Painton died at 2:45 pm Tuesday at the family home.

    He was born near Anna, Illinois, April 1, 1908.  His parents were the late Charley and Ada Christine Annis.

    On December 23, 1927, he married Miss Elvenia Jones of Randles and she survives.  Mr. Annis farmed in the Painton area until 1968 when he retired.

    Other survivors include 2 sons Harold and Herbert Annis both of Cape Girardeau; 1 daughter Mrs. Ruby Lee of Marmaduke, Arkansas; 2 sisters Mrs. Pearl Daniels of Scott City and Mrs. Naomi Harner of Harrisburg, Illinois; a step-sister Mrs. Lydia Hogg of Perkins; a half-brother Bertis Storey of East St. Louis, Illinois; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

    Two brothers Fred and Everett Annis both of Harrisburg, Illinois have preceded him in death.

NOTE: The following obituary is contributed by Floyd Cooper, from the records of his grandfather Rev. William Sidney Bailey who was pastor of several churches around southeast Missouri in the 1940's, 1950's, 1960's and 1970's (Perkins, Chaffee, Commerce, Hayti, Wyatt, Clarkton, and Blodgett).  Rev. Bailey was living in Perkins when he died at the age of 82 and is buried in the Williams Cemetery in  Perkins, MO.
