    Mrs. Hazel I. Bailey
    , 64, died at Medical Lodge Nursing Home March 8, 1973 in Farmington following an extended illness.

    Born September 4, 1908, she was a member of the New Madrid Baptist Church and Order of the Eastern Star.  In 1933, she married Walter J. Bailey who survives.

    Also surviving are one son, Lee Poe of Bolingbrook, Illinois; one daughter Mrs. Ruby Tisher of Leadington; one sister Mrs. Myrtle Hendrix of Truman, Arkansas and four grandchildren.

    Shelby Funeral Home handled arrangements.


NOTE: The following obituary is contributed by Floyd Cooper, from the records of his grandfather Rev. William Sidney Bailey who was pastor of several churches around southeast Missouri in the 1940's, 1950's, 1960's and 1970's (Perkins, Chaffee, Commerce, Hayti, Wyatt, Clarkton, and Blodgett). Rev. Bailey was living in Perkins when he died at the age of 82 and is buried in the Williams Cemetery in Perkins, MO.
