    Mrs. Esther Creed
    , born Feb. 8, 1902, 68 years old of Perkins, died at a Cape Girardeau Hospital.

    In 1920, the former Miss O'Mara married Edward Creed, who preceded her in death Aug. 1, 1962.  She was a member of the Perkins Missionary Baptist Church.

    She is survived by two sons Jim Creed, Arnett, Oklahoma and John Creed, Flint, Michigan; two daughters Mrs. June Ernest, Fresno, California and Mrs. Jean Henderson, Edmond, Oklahoma; three brothers Willie O'Mara of Delta, Walter Williams of Bell City and Glendon Williams of Atlanta, Georgia; three sisters Mrs. Wilburn Smith of Marquand, Mrs. Herman Tucker of Perryville and Mrs. Ralph Henson of Cascade, Arizona; 22 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.  A brother preceded her in death.

    Funeral services were held at the Missionary Baptist Church of Perkins with the Rev. Robert Spradling of Cape Girardeau officiating; burial was in Walker Cemetery near Bloomfield; Shetley Funeral Home in Bell City handled arrangements.


NOTE: The following obituary is contributed by Floyd Cooper, from the records of his grandfather Rev. William Sidney Bailey who was pastor of several churches around southeast Missouri in the 1940's, 1950's, 1960's and 1970's (Perkins, Chaffee, Commerce, Hayti, Wyatt, Clarkton, and Blodgett). Rev. Bailey was living in Perkins when he died at the age of 82 and is buried in the Williams Cemetery in Perkins, MO.
