Ben Elfrank - 1889 - 1963 Mr. Elfrank was born November 23, 1889 at Leopold and had lived in the Perkins Community until about five years ago when he moved to Chaffee. He was a retired farmer. He married the former Miss Lottie St. Cin. His survivors include two sons, Clyde Elfrank of Cape Girardeau and Fred Elfrank of Marion, Illinois; four daughters Mrs. Lora Gulley of Chaffee, Mrs. Leo Nelley of Cypress, Illinois, Mrs. Raymond Barrett of Chaffee, Mrs. Marvin LaGrand of Chaffee; two brothers Bill Elfrank of Perkins and Frank Elfrank of St. Louis; and 18 grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church in Perkins, with the Rev. Melvin Evans of Chaffee and the Rev. W. S. Bailey of Perkins officiating. Interment was in Morgan Memorial Park at Advance with Morgan Funeral Home in charge. NOTE: The following obituary is contributed by Floyd Cooper, from the records of his grandfather Rev. William Sidney Bailey who was pastor of several churches around southeast Missouri in the 1940's, 1950's, 1960's and 1970's (Perkins, Chaffee, Commerce, Hayti, Wyatt, Clarkton, and Blodgett). Rev. Bailey was living in Perkins when he died at the age of 82 and is buried in the Williams Cemetery in Perkins, MO.
