    Obit of an aunt, from newspaper in Chaffee, probably The Signal.

    Coletta P. Goddard - 1895 - 1983
    Coletta P. Goddard died at 3:45 p.m. Saturday July 2, 1983 at Sikeston
    Convelescent Center.  

    Born May 21st, 1895 at Oran, daughter of Lucia Mier Pobst, she moved to Chaffee in 1909 and was a salesperson for the Essner Mercantile Co. until her marriage. She and her husband owned the Chaffee Bakery and later she was manager of Cox Variety Store from 1942 to retirement in 1957.

    She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Chaffee, where she taught Sunday School for 25 years. Golden Agers, Ladies Aux. of American Legion Post 389 and United Members Methodist Womens Club. In 1916 she married Charles A. Goddard, who preceded her in death March 13, 1943.

    Surviving are two sons, Charles A. Goddard Jr. of Chaffee and Kermit
    Goddard
    of Biloxi Miss., one daughter Mrs. Vera Speake of Chaffee; one sister Laura Schnack of Pueblo CO., 3 grandchildren and 8 great
    grandchildren. One son, one brother and one great-grandson also preceded her in death.

    Services were Conducted Monday July 5th at 2 p.m., the Rev. Jeffry
    Spaulding, pastor of the United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in Union Park Cemetery. Pallbearers were Clarence Wessel, Ed Caul, David Summers, William Talley, Frank Enderle and Luke Hinkebein. Amick-Burnett Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
