    Elizabeth A. Grant - 1886 - 1972
    Elizabeth A. Grant    , who was born in Illinois on April 2, 1886, died September 18, 1972.  She lived in Perkins until recently.  She has been a patient in a nursing home in Edwardsville, Illinois.  Mrs. Grant passed away the morning of September 18th.  She was joined in matrimony in 1910 to James Grant who she proceeds in death.

    She is survived by two daughters Mrs. Myrtle Standley of Ramsey, Illinois and Mrs. Mae Murray of Oran, Mo, and one son and daughter whom she also proceeds in death.  She has 14 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, and also a sister Mary Edmund of Doniphan, Missouri.

    Mrs. Grant was a member of Perkins Baptist Church

NOTE: The obituary is contributed by Floyd Cooper, from the records of his grandfather Rev. William Sidney Bailey who was pastor of several churches around southeast Missouri in the 1940's, 1950's, 1960's and 1970's (Perkins, Chaffee, Commerce, Hayti, Wyatt, Clarkton, and Blodgett). Rev. Bailey was living in Perkins when he died at the age of 82 and is buried in the Williams Cemetery in Perkins, MO.
