    1931 - 1985

    Vernon J. Hanselman Oran- Vernon Joseph Hanselman, 54 years old, of Oran, died Saturday, April 13, 1985 at the Chaffee General Hospital. 

    Mr Hanselman was born Feb 6, 1931, at Oran, son of Orville Otto and Clara Ann Walter Hanselman. He was employed as an operator for Texas Eastern. Mr Hanselman served with the Navy in the Korean War. He was a member of Guardian Angel Parish here; Chaffee Elks Lodge #1810, Eagles Aeries Lodge 3319 of Sikeston and Morley Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5368. 

    Survivors in addition to his mother are a son, Vernon Joseph Hanselman Jr, Oran ; daughter, Mrs Jimmy Carl (Janet) Edmondson, Scott City; brother, Gene P Hanselman, Oran and five grandchildren. Mr Hanselman was preceded in death by his father. Friends may call this morning at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Oran, where a rosary will be recited at 7;30 tonight, followed by an Elks service at 8:15. 

    Service will be held Monday at 19 am at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran with the Rev Normand Varone, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with graveside rites by the VFW Pallbearers will be Leonard Pobst, Marvin Pobst, Fred Morgan, Ray Dean Hanselman, Buck Bollinger and Tom Sencilboy.
