Fred Harmon - 1891 - 1974 He was born September 29, 1891 at Lamar, Arkansas to the late Albert and Josie Homan Harmon. On July 4, 1912 at Clarksville, Arkansas, he married Albertia Bradley who survives. He was a member of the Oran Baptist Church. He moved to Missouri in 1934 and lived in Lilbourn and Vanduser prior to moving to Oran in 1944. He retired from farming in 1953. Also surviving are two sons Fred Harmon, Jr. of Portageville and Bobbie Harmon of Brighton, Illinois; four daughters Mrs. Hazel Anthony and Mrs. Josephine Tate of Oran, Mrs. Imogene Uptain of Concord, California, and Mrs. Mary Gentry of Hannibal; one brother Ralph Harmon of Sikeston; one sister Mrs. Genevieve Willis of Lamar, Arkansas; 15 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Arrangements were handled by Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel; services were held in Oran Baptist Church with Rev. Calvin Wilkins of Providence, Kentucky officiating; burial was in Forest Hills Cemetery near Morley. NOTE: The following obituary is contributed by Floyd Cooper, from the records of his grandfather Rev. William Sidney Bailey who was pastor of several churches around southeast Missouri in the 1940's, 1950's, 1960's and 1970's (Perkins, Chaffee, Commerce, Hayti, Wyatt, Clarkton, and Blodgett). Rev. Bailey was living in Perkins when he died at the age of 82 and is buried in the Williams Cemetery in Perkins, MO.
