Dixie Lee Houck ORAN – Dixie Lee Houck, 81, died at 12:29 a.m. Sept. 26, 1994, at her home in Oran, 110 Church St. Born Oct 7, 1912, at Morley, daughter of the late Harris and Daisy Lee Hooe Bissell, she had been employed as a machine operator for International Hat Co. in Oran prior to retirement in 1976. A member of the First Baptist Church of Oran, she had served three years on the Oran Housing Authority and was an active member of Oran Senior Citizens. On Jan 9, 1934, she married John F. Houck, who survives of the home. Other survivors include: a daughter and son-in-law, Col. And Mrs. Thomas J. (Gaylene) Davis of Jonesboro, Ark.; one sister, Clara Rubel of Cape Girardeau; and two grandsons, Dr. Thomas J. Davis of Little Rock, Ark. and Chad Houck Davis of Jonesboro, Ark. Two nieces and a nephew also survive. Friends may call after 5 p.m. Tuesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran. Services are scheduled at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Arlie Houck, pastor, and the Rev. Cy Smith officiating.
