CHAFFEE - Alma LeGrand, 76, of Chaffee died Saturday, May 29, 1999, at St. Anthony Medical Center in St. Louis. She was born July 10, 1922 in Kelso, daughter of Albert and Bertha Heuring Schwartz. She married Clarence LeGrand on Sept. 3, 1949. He died Oct 3, 1964. She was a retired nurse assistant from Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and Daughters of St. Ambrose in Chaffee. Survivors include two sons, Joseph LeGrand of St Louis and Douglas LeGrand of Chaffee; five daughters, Mary Ann James of Marble Hill, Germaine LeGrand of Benton, Lavern Kiefer of advance, Helen Harris of Old Appleton and Rite Mayfield of Cape Girardeau; two sisters-in-law, Johanna Schwartz and Johanna Schwartz, both of Scott City; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, a grandson and two brothers. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. rosary will be said at 7 o'clock. Funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Ambrose Catholic church, with the Rev. Ralph Duffner officiating. Burial will be in St. Ambrose Cemetery.
