KELSO – Sylvia Ann Messmer, 92, died at 8:50 a.m., Feb. 27, 1998, at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau.  Born June 10, 1905, at Kelso, daughter of the late Andrew and Annie Scherer Heisserer , she was a seamstress for Florsheim and member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and St. Ann’s Sodality in Kelso.   On Nov 27, 1927, she married Ervin F. Messmer who preceded her in death on Jan 18, 1986.  Survivors include two sons, Earl Messmer of Gordonville and Raymond Messmer of Scott City; two daughters, Marlene Morton of Cape Girardeau and Claudine Scheeter of Danville, Ill; one brother, Eddie Heisserer of Scott City; and eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.  One son and one brother preceded her in death.  Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City, where a rosary is scheduled for 6 p.m.  Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Augustine Catholic Church with the Rev. Oliver Clavin officiating.  Burial will follow in the St. Augustine Cemetery.
