    Mrs. Joseph Newberry - 1912 - 1968
    Mrs. Joseph Newberry
    , a Perkins resident, age 56, died in a Cape Girardeau Hospital. 

    She was born July 31, 1912 near Farmington.  The former Miss Freda Marie Rickard, she was married to Joseph Newberry who survives.

    She is also survived by her mother, Mrs. Frances Rickard, St. Louis; two sons Wm. Williams, St. Louis and Robert Williams of Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Rion, Farmington and Mrs. Bernadine Boyd of St. Louis; 14 grandchildren, 4 brothers Len Ricard, Jessie Rickard, Milford Rickard and Darrell Rickard of St. Louis; a sister Mrs. Eva Watson of St. Louis; two stepsons Hurb Newberry of St. Louis and Earnest Newberry of California; a stepdaughter Mrs. Nola Harris of Piggott, Arkansas.

    Funeral services were held in Cozene Funeral Home in Farmington and burial was in Parkview Cemetery.

NOTE: The following obituary is contributed by Floyd Cooper, from the records of his grandfather Rev. William Sidney Bailey who was pastor of several churches around southeast Missouri in the 1940's, 1950's, 1960's and 1970's (Perkins, Chaffee, Commerce, Hayti, Wyatt, Clarkton, and Blodgett). Rev. Bailey was living in Perkins when he died at the age of 82 and is buried in the Williams Cemetery in Perkins, MO.
