JACKSON – Feb 2, 1988 Anita H. Scherer, 67, died Tuesday at Deal Nursing Home in Jackson. She had been in failing health for the past eight years. Born Nov. 30, 1920, at Kelso, to the late Jacob and Louise Burger Leible, she had worked at the Eli Walker and Davis Electric Co. She was an active member of St. Mary’s Cathedral Catholic Church and the Knight’s of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary.  On Nov 30, 1940, at Kelso she married Cyril Scherer, who survives.  Other survivors include: one son, Cyril Scherer of St. Louis; one daughter, Suzy Glasscock of Cape Girardeau; one brother, Henry Leible of Kelso; two sisters, Sister Olivia Leible of Chicago, Ill., and Theresa Probst of Oran; and three grandchildren.  Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau where parish prayers will be recited at 7:30 p.m. and the Knights of Columbus rosary is scheduled for 8 p.m.   A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Mary’s Cathedral with the Rev Alan Saunders, associate pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in the St Mary’s Cemetery.
