    1900-1988

    CHAFFEE Ė Feb 4, 1988 Fredrick "Fred" Seyer, 87, died at 5:30 a.m. today at the Chaffee Nursing Center.  Born March 20, 1900, at Kelso to the late Jacob and Mary Rodin Seyer, he was a section hand laborer for the Cotton Belt Railroad for 40 years retiring in 1962. He was a member of the St. Ambrose Catholic Church at Chaffee and the Menís Sodality.  On Oct 21, 1928, he married Alvina Louise Ziegler, who survives.  Other survivors include: three sons, Marcus Seyer of Chaffee and Robert and Arthur Seyer of St. Louis; two daughters, Mrs. Anthony (Rose Mary) Elfrink of Cahokia, Ill., and Mrs. Ernest (Betty) Glastetter of Oran; two brothers, Bill Seyer of Rockview and Tony Seyer of Chaffee Route One; and 28 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.  Eight brothers and one sister preceded him in death.  Friends may call after 4 p.m. Saturday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the St. Ambrose Catholic Church with the Rev. James Reynolds pastor, officiating.  Burial will follow in the St. Ambrose Catholic Cemetery.
