Willis M. Spane - 1934 - 1965 Mr. Spane of Perkins was a veteran of the Korean War and was a member of Lakeville Masonic Lodge 489, Bell City. Surviving are his wife; his parents Mr. and Mrs. M. O. Spane of Perkins, and the following brothers and sisters: Eugene Spane of Chaffee, Mrs. Marie Hill of Rochelle, Illinois, Freeman Spane of Dexter, Lyman Spane of Painton, Miss Kathryn Spane of Perkins, Bill Gene Spane of Oran and Paul Spane of Perkins. Arrangements were handled by Morgan Funeral Home in Advance, services were conducted at Perkins Baptist Church by Rev. Troy Haupt of Cape Girardeau and Rev. Bob Medlock of Tallapoosa, rites were held at Williams Cemetery by the Masons. NOTE: The following obituary is contributed by Floyd Cooper, from the records of his grandfather Rev. William Sidney Bailey who was pastor of several churches around southeast Missouri in the 1940's, 1950's, 1960's and 1970's (Perkins, Chaffee, Commerce, Hayti, Wyatt, Clarkton, and Blodgett). Rev. Bailey was living in Perkins when he died at the age of 82 and is buried in the Williams Cemetery in Perkins, MO.
