    Edward Wagoner - 1915 - 1974
    Edward Wagoner,
    age 58 years, 3 months and 20 days, died at 5:40 pm Saturday in the St. Francis Hospital at Cape Girardeau, where he had been admitted earlier in the day.

    He was born October 26, 1915 at Malden, Missouri, he was the son of Louis J. Wagoner of Perkins and the late Mrs. Viola McGinnis Wagoner.

    On January 19, 1936, he married Miss Pearline Spane of Perkins.

    Mr. Wagoner was a self-employed truck driver until 1971 when he retired due to ill health.

    Survivors include his wife, his father, 3 sons Gary and Dennis Wagoner of Chaffee and Jerry Wagoner of Perkins; 3 brothers Ray Wagoner of Chaffee, Floyd and Lloyd Wagoner both of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 3 sisters Mrs. Christine Phegley, of Flint Michigan, and Mrs. Opal Williams and Mrs. Estell Spane, both of Painton; and 5 grandchildren.

    Mr. Wagoner's mother, 2 brothers and 2 sisters preceeded him in death.

    Services were conducted in Perkins Baptist Church with Rev. W. S. Bailey officiating.  Burial was in Williams Cemetery with Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel at Chaffee in charge of arrangements.


NOTE: The following obituary is contributed by Floyd Cooper, from the records of his grandfather Rev. William Sidney Bailey who was pastor of several churches around southeast Missouri in the 1940's, 1950's, 1960's and 1970's (Perkins, Chaffee, Commerce, Hayti, Wyatt, Clarkton, and Blodgett). Rev. Bailey was living in Perkins when he died at the age of 82 and is buried in the Williams Cemetery in Perkins, MO.
