Andrew C. Warner - 1876-1973 He was born Jan. 14, 1876 in Richland County, Ill. Mr. Warner married Lenora St. Cin of Perkins in July of 1912. She died Nov. 5, 1939. Mr. Warner was a farmer, a trapper, a logger and worked some for the railroad. Mr. Warner moved to Oran from near Rayville, LA in August of 1972. He made his home here with a daughter, Mrs. Adriel Williams. Surviving: Son Norval Warner, Pontiac, Michigan; Daughters Mrs. Wright Shelton, Chaffee, Mrs. Guy Ursery, Durand, Michigan, and Mrs. Adriel Williams of Oran. A stepson Calvin Carpenter, Pontiac, Michigan, 25 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren, several step-grandchildren and a host of friends. Two sons preceded him in death: Noah (better known as Shorty) Warner and Marvin Warner. Arrangements were made by Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Oran, services were conducted at First Baptist Church in Oran with Rev. W. S. Bailey of Perkins officiating. Burial was in Williams Cemetery in Perkins. NOTE: The following obituary is contributed by Floyd Cooper, from the records of his grandfather Rev. William Sidney Bailey who was pastor of several churches around southeast Missouri in the 1940's, 1950's, 1960's and 1970's (Perkins, Chaffee, Commerce, Hayti, Wyatt, Clarkton, and Blodgett). Rev. Bailey was living in Perkins when he died at the age of 82 and is buried in the Williams Cemetery in Perkins, MO.
