    Louis J. Wagoner - 1889 - 1976
    Louis J. Wagoner
    , 86 a retired farmer, died March 15, 1976 in Chaffee General Hospital where he had been a patient since March 9.

    Born November 19, 1889 in Harrisburg, Illinois, son of the late William and Kizzie Hogg Wagoner, he had lived in Perkins since 1929 and was a member of the Perkins Missionary Baptist Church.

    On July 6, 1910, he married Mary Viola McGinnis of Commerce, who died December 24, 1966. 

    Survivors include three sons, Ray Wagoner of Chaffee and Floyd and Lloyd Wagoner of Colorado Springs, Colorado; three daughters Mrs. Earl Williams and Mrs. Lyman Spane of Painton and Mrs. Christine Phegley of Flint, Michigan; 24 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

    Arrangements were handled by Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Chaffee.   Services were held at Perkins Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. W. S. Bailey, a retired Baptist minister, officiating.  Burial was in Williams Cemetery.


NOTE: The following obituary is contributed by Floyd Cooper, from the records of his grandfather Rev. William Sidney Bailey who was pastor of several churches around southeast Missouri in the 1940's, 1950's, 1960's and 1970's (Perkins, Chaffee, Commerce, Hayti, Wyatt, Clarkton, and Blodgett). Rev. Bailey was living in Perkins when he died at the age of 82 and is buried in the Williams Cemetery in Perkins, MO.
