Surnames:(in capital letters only) Denbow/Loyd/Edmonson
Comments:
Looking for information on my gggrandmother Roena Emeline Loyd b. abt 1842 who married James or William Denbow (possibly both). In 1870 she was living in Scott Co., Richland Township in the home of Martha Edmonson. Roena had 2 children at the time, William 8 and Martha Ann 2. Martha's death cert. lists her father as William Denbow. In 1878, Roena had a son, James whose father is listed as James Denbow. I have also found a St. Louis marriage between Rowena Loyd and Edward Leroy in 1866. If anyone has anything on this family, I would greatly appreciate it.
I am trying to find the connection between Roena and Martha Edmonson as well.
Thank you
Debby Smith

Surnames:(in capital letters only) HURT
Comments:
Looking for information re: NATHAN HURT of Sikeston, Scott Co MO. This is what I know of Nathan: According to the 1880 census, he and wife SELENA J. SANDERS HURT were living in Sikeston, where he worked at the lumber mill. They had 2 children: Frank and Nora (ages 5 and 3). The couple was married in Vienna, Johnson Co IL in 1874. They had 3 more children: Abraham in 1881, Lucy Jane in 1883 and Prince Albert in 1886. Selena died about 1886 and Nathan remarried a woman whose name may have been Armecia Hammons, in Oct of 1886. Nathan died about 1890, at which time the kids were farmed out to several local families, including the Spence family (Nora) and Lucy went to Lloyd & Julie Dodson and then perhaps to James Joyce's family by 1900. Lucy (my grandmother) married Richard Estel Jones in June of 1903. He worked for Frisco RR.

I can find nothing more on NATHAN HURT, except for his marriage license and the mention in the 1880 Scott Co MO census.

I would greatly appreciate any help. I've made this query before, and a nice lady named Lillian Sanders offered her help - then I never heard from anyone again. I really want to find Nathan's family and to learn more about him. In a way, I'm trying to restore my grandmother's family - for my mom's sake. Thanks so much.
