In the 1920 census, Richland Twp. was the last name HARTZELL John M., head, 40 yrs old Lucinda, wife, 27 yrs old Ethel, dau, 7 yrs old Evelyn, dau, 5 yrs old Helen, dau, 4 yrs old Luellen, dau, 3 yrs old John B, father,67 yrs old John B. HARTZELL was my grandfather Smauel HARTZELL's brother. John was born in Cadet or Old Mines, Washington Co., Mo. around November 1852. John married Belle WALL, March 2, 1879. John and Belle's children were: John M. "Jack" (above) born around 1880 Bruce, born 1881, died 1901 Henry Silas, born 1894, died 1959 Alice, born 1897 I have pictures that Henry HARTZELL's daughter gave me, but don't know the connection. I have pictures of Lucinda and Jack HARTZELL with Roy GRAY, Jr. (This would be Ethel HARTZELL's son), Henry and Belle; pictures of DAVIS or DOVIS family, Jennie of Denver Co., F.J. DAVIS/DOVIS; Blanche, Sue, Bert CULTON, Molly CULTON, Ann REEL, Eli and Gilly PORTELL and a POLITTE. |

| Comments: | I'm researching my husbands family. In doing so I have found his great grandparents and great great grandparents. My problem is I have yet to find any records of his great grandparents. Nothing on census, no marriage records or any birth records. What I do know is this: Roy William Beck was born in Scott Co, Missouri 8-4-1887, he married Iva Savannah Silliman in 1911 in Charleston, Mississippi Co. Roys' father was also Roy but I don't know his middle name. Ivas' parents were John C. Silliman and Savannah Brooks. Iva was born 1893 in Mississippi Co..My husbands grandfather, Granville was born 9-7-1914 in Mississippi Co, Missouri. Does anyone have any ideas of where I should look? Or point me in the right direction. Thanks. |
