
Lloyd
C. Cairns, the son of Edward C. Cairns and Jessie E. Mundwiller was born January
11, 1897 in St. Louis, Mo. He enlisted in the 93rd Aero Squadron on Aug.
10, 1917. This unit was formed from select recruits at Jefferson Barracks
at St. Louis. He was promoted to Corporal rank on Oct. 1, 1918 and to
Chauffer 1st Class on December 1, 1918. His unit served overseas from Oct.
13, 1917 to March 13, 1919. He was given an honorable discharge April 5,
1919 on demobilization of the unit. Lloyd Cairns died Jan. 18, 1977 in
Belleville, Illinois. He is buried at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in
