Oliver H. Blase

Company B, 354th Infantry, 89th Division

Oliver H. Blase was born 7 Feb 1895 in St. Louis, Missouri. He served as a Private in Co. B, 354th Infantry, 89th Division  Blase lost two fingers on the left hand and is believed to have been shot off during the war. Oliver's parents are William H. Blase and Dena L. Blase, nee Simon. His grandfather, August Wm. Blase served in Company B and C in the Missouri Calvary during the Civil War (records say Wilhelm Blaze, Wilhelm Blase, or William Blase) and had immigrated from Prussia in 1855.  Oliver H. Blase was buried on 12-3-1969 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Mo.
