- Requesting info on the SWAN family of Perry County, MO. Believe my ggg grandfather Thomas SWAN, b. @ 1824 in NC was the son of Thomas S. and Sally HELLARD SWAN, and the nephew of Richard SWAN. My ggg grandfather first married Isabella GOODWIN and had sons George, John and Alexander. Around 1860 he married a Margaret, probably in Cape County and had a son named Jesse, my g-g-grandfather. The family were in Stoddard County by 1880. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Does anyone know who Margaret was? Family tradition says she was Cherokee. Jesse married Eliza Victoria DAVIS aroudn 1883. They had a daughter Lula Ruth, b. 1895 and a son named Jim who lived near Idalia, Missouri. Thanks. .

All marriages took place in Laclede Co, MO. The parents of these siblings were William Henry Harrison DANIEL b. 1837 White Co IL and Sarah Mary WATSON b. 1837 Posey Co IN. - Peter MYERS b abt 1799 in KY was listed on the 1850 census and his surname was spelled MYRES, his son who lived next door -Jacob MIRES - had another spelling. Peter MYERS/MYRES was living with his 2nd wife Temperance and children from his 1st marriage as well as his current marriage. There was also a George SMITH 13 y/o and Benjamin SMITH 12 y/o living with them. What is the MYERS/SMITH connection?

- Searching for the following Stoddard Co. families: HENSON (Sam D. Sr. and Jr. and all relatives) starting ca. 1840. Sam, Jr. married Elizabeth PIRTLE. Her father was Nathaniel PIRTLE of TN. One of Sam, JR.'s and Elizabeth's daughters, Hulda, married William DOUGLAS (said to have been of Geneovesee [sp?] CO., IL). The other side of the family consists of John LIVINGSTON (killed in ww1); Henry Malone (died ca. 1898 of pnuemonia), his wife, Janie Shrader (who later married ?? PRY), and Janie's mother, Elizabeth (or Margaret) MOORE. I have a good bit of info on some; very little and none on others. I am glad to share. - I am searching for records on my fathers family, whom I belive lived near Advance about 1910-1915. My dad talked about walking to school around a big swamp. His Fathers name was Andrew Jay MCKEE and His mothers name was Ida Ellen MCKEE. The childrens names and ages (in 1915) were John 22, floyd 20, Goldie 17, Halley 14, Marcus 9, Gilbert 7 and Eunice 5. Andrew "Jay" MCKEE may Have owned farmland and dealt in horses. He died in Eldorado, Il. 1/1/18. He may have been on a stock buying trip and was still a resident of Missouri at the time of his death. I have a copy of their marriage license issued in Stoddard County in 1886. They were both residents of Duck Creek Township. Ike SPAWR had a daughter Libby (Elizabeth?) from a prior marriage.
