"Descendants of Isaac Barton", pg. 351 states that Robert traveled with a large
party from Boone Co to CA. Amoung thos in the party were Jonathan Barton,
Sr. Jonathan Jr., Joshua, brothersin-law Fleming Hatton and William Corlew,
John Barton a cousin and John Corlew. He came back to MO before 1857,
married, and moved back to CA - where the third child was born. They
returned near Rocheport, Boone CO, MO about 1871. In 1876 he bought land in
Audrain County, MO.

1870 census record living with Levi Barton and family listed as "at home" age
22 born PENN - as Margaret. It is speculation that this Margaret is the same
"Macon" listed in the Marriage record - but it all "fits" nicely. Researcher
unable to locate on 1880 census index. (1870 census taken in June - hence they
could be newlyweds.)
